The winery is located in a building of the historic Tirano paper mill which closed in 2008.
The voluntary association, involving a group of families with disabled children, “Fiori di Sparta”, is based on the ground floor. The most important wine, Sforzato di Valtellina DOCG, was dedicated to and has been named after the association.
The actual winery is downstairs and despite its small size, it contains all the equipment necessary for quality wine production.
The project started small but the winery is already under expansion. Efforts have been made to recreate a countryside landscape in the city, a row of vines has even been planted in the garden.
A fascinating setting, also thanks to the wine venue and veritable symbol of the company: a real wagon of the famous Red Bernina Express in the garden.
